2021-2022 Reflections Theme
The theme for 2021-2022 will be "I Will Change the World By. . ." This theme was suggested by UTAH student Lydia Keel from Spanish Fork Junior High.
We are looking for more individuals to help with Reflections this year! Shannon Parker is our Reflections specialist this year! With things being online this year it should be easier! But, we use volunteers to help with judging, Recognition Night, data entry, awards etc. Please reach out to Shannon if you are interested in helping. THANKS!!!
About ReflectionsStudents from all grades and abilities are invited to explore and be involved in the arts. Annually, thousands of students will reflect on a common theme and create original works of art in the categories of Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography and Visual Arts (2D & 3D).
Step 1: Ponder your projectWhat would you like to create? What category would it fit in? What do you imagine? Write down your ideas. You don't have to turn this in, but it will help you plan what you need.
Step 2: General & category rulesTo ensure your student is following rules for participation, please read the Rules for their specific arts category. General guidelines are as followed:
|
- Each entry must be the original work of one student only. An adult may not alter the creative integrity of a student’s work. Because the program is designed to encourage and recognize each student’s individual creativity, help from an adult or collaboration with other students is not allowed except in the Special Artist Division. Other individuals may appear in or perform a student’s work, but the work itself must be the creative product of one student only.
- Only one student may be recognized as the award recipient for each entry.
- Each entry must contain a title and include an artist statement. The artist statement communicates what inspired the work, how it relates to the theme, and the content of the work. Minimum 10 words. Maximum 100 words. The artist statement is as important as the artwork!5. Use of copyrighted material is prohibited, except for background music in dance choreography and film production entries. Background music must be cited on the Student Entry Form.
- Plagiarized entries will be disqualified. Use of PowerPoint templates and Google Slides or similar programs is prohibited.
